Icarus Moment
550 x 960 x 450 mm
Bronze
The myth of Icarus. “Don’t get close to the sun; the wax in your wings will melt and you will fall from the sky.’’ Daedalus fashioned two pairs of wings out of wax and feathers for himself and his son Icarus to escape Crete. The myth has a varied ending but generally Icarus was so overcome by the joy that flying gave him, he flew so high and, in that moment, forgot his father’s warnings and the wax melted his wings and he fell to the earth.
